The Phoenix, is a legendary bird of fire, that has been recorded to have existed in the cultures, including the Chinese, Indian, Native American, and the Middle Eastern civilizations. In all accounts, the basic description is the same. The Phoenix is described as a eagle like bird, composed of flame, and with magical powers. It is said to have been born from itself, for when a Phoenix dies, it builds a nest, and turns to ash. It is from these ashes a new phoenix is born, and will live just as long as its predecessor, 400-300 years. It is for this the Phoenix is considered a symbol of rebirth and life.
